While being above average, Hinata has never been the smartest in her class. She had always been outclassed by others and overshadowed, which led her to be extremely modest on one hand and having extreme confidence problems on the other. She always wants to help people out, though, and so she has a horrible problem with saying ‘no’. While this can be a good thing at times, it has made it extremely easy for people to take advantage of her. However, on the flip side, whenever she needs help, she usually keeps it to herself, always afraid of being a bother.

That was her childhood. Always trying to help others while never asking for help herself. That was not seen as a problem, however, as it was almost expected of her. Growing up in a feudal-driven family in Japan, she was expected to become the perfect housewife that would take care of her husband once married.

Deep down inside, Hinata hated the fact that Neji did not take her with him. She did not mind that he left; in all honesty, (though she would never say this aloud) she completely understood. But the fact that he, somebody she came to think of as a brother and her closest family member, took up and left her alone felt almost like betrayal in a way. And even worse, he had not even given her any inclination to where he was going.

It was like he had disappeared off the face of the planet.

For the next year, even with having to worry about her last year of high school, all she mainly focused on was trying to locate him, which proved to be a lot more difficult than she anticipated. Not being the most computer savvy person around, she started out in general searches which only brought her to one conclusion: Wherever Neji was he was not making a scene.

After graduating high school, Hinata found herself under constant supervision of her father. He kept breathing down her neck, wondering which college she was going to go to, but she knew that he was probably expecting her to leave to follow Neji first chance she got. Which she did the night after her eighteenth birthday. She had finally found a single resident in the middle of New Orleans with the his name. There was still only a one in a million shot it was him, but she packed up a single duffle bag and left into the winter cold.

The only thing she had going for her was that Hyuuga Neji was not a very common name anywhere.

She showed up on his doorstep almost three days later (having gotten herself pretty lost around six separate times), and she ended up never leaving. Well, she left Neji’s apartment, but she stayed in New Orleans. She ended up getting a job at the local coffee shop and quickly became a genius at making the caffeinated beverages. Though the New Orleans life was a little too extreme to her, even she found herself relaxing into the crazy atmosphere…
